ABOUT ME

Hi! My name is Eowyn Collins and I started this blog for my 10th grade personal project. I wanted to be able to hone my own cooking skills by baking gluten free, and share my families favorite gluten free dessert recipes with others. I also wanted to help others understand what being celiac actually means and change the misconceptions that are associated with the term "gluten free".

I have grown up gluten free even though I'm not myself celiac, my dad is. But my mom has been able to, in the past 13 years of my dads diagnoses, figure out how to adapt our favorite meals and treats so that we all can enjoy them. Now, almost everything I eat is gluten free. I created this blog to clear up a common misconception that if something is gluten free it can't taste good. I have gotten many looks as if I am unfortunate or people are surprised that the majority of what I eat is gluten free because they don't think that it is possible for it to be good. That is why this blog contains desserts, because everyone deserves treats that taste amazing.

I also created this blog because I know how hard it was for my mom when my dad was first diagnosed. (We still have all of the cookbooks with her many notes and alterations.) She wasn't sure what to do because she loved cooking, but she wasn't sure what she could, and couldn't, feed my dad. I want to make sure that others don't have the same experience as my mom. My grandma has said that even though she knows so much is gluten free that her brain turns to mush every time we visit and she feels like she has

no clue what to make that my dad can enjoy, because of this I have a post about making gluten free simple and tips and tricks to eating out.

I wanted everyone to be able to have desserts that are delicious and gluten free. I hope these recipes can be enjoyed by people who are and are not gluten free alike. I would love to hear from you and your experience as I hope that this blog can help you whether you are celiac or have friends and family that are celiac.
